Here are some questions that you might be asking yourself:

What is a DEXA Scan and what does it measure?

Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA or DXA) uses a low-dose x-ray to measure fat mass, lean mass and bone mineral content within the body.

How does a DEXA Scan work?

Two X-ray beams with different energy levels are aimed at the patient’s bones. When soft tissue absorption is subtracted out, the bone mineral density can be determined from the absorption of each beam by bone.

How do I lose excess body fat?

The most effective way to shed excess fat is to combine moderate exercise with healthy dietary choices. Research shows this combination to be the most successful approach for long-term results. It's a lifestyle! Please keep in mind, you should consult your physician before starting any nutrition/fitness program.

How can the DEXA Scan be used in my nutrition/fitness program?

First, consider working with a trained nutrition/fitness professional; that's where I come in!!! Second, I will review your DEXA Scan results and design a customized program to help you achieve your goals. Third, I will require you to retest every 9-12 weeks depending upon your individualized program. This will show us if any adjustments need to be made to your nutrition/fitness program in order to ensure that you are progressing towards your goals.

Let's start your Journey Today!!!
