Jennifer Littau, MS, RDN, CPT

Hi there!  Im Jenny, a food, fitness, and healthy lifestyle expert behind the private practice, A Balanced Life Rx LLC.
As a healthcare professional I am truly passionate about helping others live their best life through a holistic approach using nutrition and fitness as medicine. 
I specialize in youth & family nutrition (my true passion), but also enjoy doing work in areas such as diabetes prevention & management, cardiovascular health, 
and of course sports nutrition.
I currently reside in Manassas, VA with my husband Jim and our two beautiful weimaraners Maple & Misty.  
When I'm not busy coaching clients, you'll likely find me training for my next triathlon race, cooking up something delicious in my kitchen, walking my dogs, hiking and getting lost in the woods, or simply being lazy on the couch watching my favorite Bravo housewives drama!  
My goal is to educate and inspire you; provide you with current evidence based research and offer you useful tools and strategies to help you achieve optimal health; ultimately leading you to be the best version of yourself.

MY Wellness Journey

My passion for health, nutrition, and fitness began as a young athlete and competitive swimmer.  I found that sports helped me reach my health and personal goals.  During my sophomore year of high school I was a bronze medalist at the 1996 Olympic Trials and a seven time National Champion.  After high school, I had the privilege to compete as a Division I collegiate swimmer at the University of Southern California.  As a natural born athlete, I live a lifestyle that highlights a balance between FOOD and FITNESS in order to achieve optimal health.  

My love for fitness spilled over into my professional life.  For the past ten years I have pursued a career as a certified personal trainer.  During this time I had the pleasure to work with all types of people at all stages in their personal journey towards living a healthy lifestyle.  At this point, I realized that one couldn’t underestimate the important role of nutrition and proper diet in achieving their health and personal goals.  In order to better assist my clients, I returned to school to pursue a Master’s of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics and become a Registered Dietitian.  I wanted to understand the science of nutrition and share it with those who wanted to improve their life.

Helping people understand an intimidating topic such as nutrition and simplifying it to fit their lifestyle is something I am passionate about.  I firmly believe that a balance between food and fitness is the key to optimal health and performance both in and out of the gym.  I understand that everyone has unique needs and responds differently to training, diet, and recovery.  My nutrition coaching, personalized meal plans, and training regimens are tailored to meet individuals needs, schedules, and lifestyles.
